Spelling word list

The week of May 5-9 included a list with the following words:
look, could, would, cook, book, boyhood, foot, childhood, stood, should, careful, chair, mountain, state, America
Bonus:
measure, centimeter, inches

Here is the result of Leah and I working together to create a paragraph:
In my childhood I played with my friends. We had to be careful of cars driving down our street. Mommy says you should look both ways before crossing the street. But I wasn't allowed to cross the street alone. I could have tried to cross when she wasn't looking but I'm sure I would have been caught the moment one foot stepped into the street. Instead I stood on the curb and watched the kids across the street playing in their yard. And other times I brought my rocking chair to the driveway and watched them. Those were the times I felt the most lonely.

*If you'd like to play along too*
The instructions for the 2nd grade spelling assignment are as follows: Write a paragraph using 8 of the listed words. You must use details, punctuation and indent. The spelling words are typically underlined in the written form, here I chose to use bold type to highlight the word. We have discovered (from teacher communication) that in a pinch you can pluralize and passive tense the words but we try to refrain from that if we can as it adds to the challenge.
