Nifty Ideas: Garden

Another round of fantastic nifty ideas I have discovered. You too may become inspired by these nifty things and in turn create your own. If you have any of your own nifty ideas please share them with me I'd love to learn about what is nifty to you!

Thanks to my SIL Laura for this idea: make your own rosemary extract. And then I found a site about how to make rosemary oil. These are two great ways for me to use some of that rosemary growing in my garden. I found some other uses here.

Thinking about the rosemary oil I found some interesting information about oregano oil and some uses for it around the house.

Gardening is fun until some hungry bugs decides to help themselves to your veggies. We try to avoid using chemicals on our vegetables and herbs in our garden. There are several ways to create your own pesticide but if you have kids and pets it is best to find one that is safe for them too. Kiddley posted a recipe for a pesticide that is kid friendly. It is easy to make and can be used on indoor and outdoor plants.

With all this waiting around for my vegetables to be ready to eat I thought maybe drawing some radishes of my own will keep me busy.

I was going to suggest oils as well- you need the recipe for Julie's Lemon rosemary cookies, very yummy. I think she emailed it to me, let me find it.
