Pumpkin picking

Last week we went to the farm with her preschool class. After days of very warm temperatures were finally we had a more typical fall like day cooler in temperature and with no rain. We began our outing with a hayride to the pumpkin patch. The children were free to explore the field in search of a pumpkin. We walked in the patch touching several pumpkins. I always wonder what draws children to their choice. Chance? Color? Shape? Size? She found her pumpkin at the very end of our time there. There for a moment as the class was leaving I thought I might have hastily to choose one for her.

I guess this is the one. I asked her if she liked her pumpkin and she kissed it. This girl. She is so very fond of Fall. Pumpkins and leaves. She would take them all home if she could.
