Knitted and Felted Mushrooms

This project was one I discovered on Ravelry. One of many I have a desire to create. These were so adorable it made it difficult to resist. The best part is they are another quick knit and a perfect take along project. I love that it is easy and fun. If you would like the pattern, Myriads of Mushrooms, I found it free from sister designers Grace and Alice Schnebly's blog, Kathryn Ivy. There are several varieties to knit and you can make a little family of them. So far I have another knitted waiting to be felted. I expect to knit some other pieces and felt them all together in one big bunch. I used some dried beans in the bottom of the stem and stuffed the rest of it with polyfil. A simple stitch around the stem to secure the cap and the mushroom was complete. I'm not sure what I'll do with this one or the others I'll make. I guess the most likely use will be the girls using them as pieces to go along with the critter villages they set up around the house. I don't know if you have looked around on their blog but oh my there are some really neat things to knit.
